Open Meeting Requirements

Meetings of FONVCA have always been open to the public. The Community Charter requires that with few exemptions all council, advisory committees, and other council appointed committees must be open to the public.

Codes of Ethics/Conduct for DNV Council and Staff

"Conflict of Interest" is one of the many BC Government issued explanation on using the Local Government Act and the Community Charter.
Council's conduct is governed by their Code of Ethics and Oath of Office which in part reads:
- "I will not allow any private interest to influence my conduct in public matters."
- "I will disclose any direct or indirect pecuniary interest in a matter and will not participate in the discussion of the matter and will not vote in respect of the matter."

Public Sector & Government Ethics
Planning staff are guided by their membership in various professional associations such at the Planning Institute of BC or the American Institute of Certified Planners
Management staff should adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Local Government Management Association of BC
